Mother's Day Brunch at Chartier - May 10 + 11

Join us Saturday, May 10th and Sunday, May 11th to celebrate Mom!

For Mother's Day this year, we wll be featuring a brunch charcuterie for $70 per person, with optional mimosa flight for an additional $45. Littles age 12 + under will have the option to order from our feature kids offerings ($25 per person).

Seatings are 1.75 hours each available at 10am/12pm/2pm.

May 5th - Read | Eat | Drink Book Pairing - A Man Called Ove

On Monday, May 5th join us for the second Read | Eat | Drink book pairing dinner, where we create a four course set menu centred around a book from our friends and neighbours at Daisy Chain Book Co.

For May we're switching gears from non-fiction, using "A Man Called Ove" by Fredrik Backman as our culinary inspiration.

Backman's debut novel quickly became a New York Time's best seller, and was recently made into a movie starring Tom Hanks. It's a funny, moving, uplifting tale of love and community that will leave you with a spring in your step.

Ove is the quintessential angry old man next door. An isolated retiree with strict principles and a short fuse, who spends his days enforcing block association rules that only he cares about, and visiting his wife's grave, Ove has given up on life. After a boisterous young family moves in next door and accidentally flattens Ove's mailbox, an unlikely friendship forms

The menu will be a blend of culinary references sprinkled throughout the book, along with inspiration from our own core food memories. The evening includes a private shopping party at Daisy Chain, a four course dinner, reception cocktail, and a reading of favourite snippets from the book.

We may not have maple trees to tap in our backyard, but that won’t stop us from hosting a celebration of “le temps de sucre” with a traditional French-Canadian sugar shack dinner!

Join us on Good Friday for a family style experience that revolves around our favourite staple: MAPLE SYRUP.

The cost is $60/adult and $30 per child (3-12 years old) for a Quebecois feast featuring:

  • soupe aux pois

  • freshly baked Mother sourdough with house-made creton & pickles & whipped maple molasses butter

  • oreilles de crisse with smoked maple aioli

  • maple ham carving station

  • made to order crepes

  • puffed omelette with maple caramelized onions, Lakeside buttercheese, Swiss & provolone

  • tourtière with rhubarb relish

  • duck fat roasted potatoes & carrots

  • Gull Valley Greenhouse tomato slices with salt and pepper 

  • pouding chômeur with Little Bear maple gelato

  • tarte au sucre 

  • tire sur la neige

  • tea + coffee

On Wednesday, March 26th join us for the first ever Read | Eat | Drink book pairing dinner, where we create a four course set menu centered around a book from our friends and neighbours at Daisy Chain Book Co

We're kicking off with a book that sparked SO much joy for our culinary and foodie hearts - Taste by Stanley Tucci. 

Taste is a reflection on the intersection of food and life, filled with anecdotes about growing up in Westchester New York; preparing for and shooting the foodie films Big Night and Julie & Julia; falling in love over dinner, and teaming up with his wife to create meals for a multitude of children. Each morsel of this gastronomic journey through good times and bad, five-star meals and burned dishes, is as heartfelt and delicious as the last. 

The menu will be a blend of recipes from Tucci's memoir, along with inspiration from our own core food memories. The evening includes a private shopping party at Daisy Chain, a four course dinner, reception cocktail, and a reading of favourite snippets from the book. The cost per person is $75 + GST.

On Friday, March 14th we’re celebrating Pi day in the best possible way…..with a cornucopia of pie from our bakery - Mother by Chartier.

Pies are available for pre order here, or you can stop by in person to grab your favourite!

March 16 - Sunday Spirit Club ft. Irish Whiskey

Join us for an Irish Whiskey celebration on Sunday, March 16th, with one of our favourite guest hosts- Sean Kincaid of Dark Cloud Whisky.

You will be greeted with a reception cocktail followed by a tasting of three different pours, paired to three small bites, highlighting each spirits unique flavour profile and character.

There is one seating available at 4pm, the event is approximately 1.5-2 hours long.

March 31st - Rhonda's Rumpus Room - Ladies' Game Night

On the last Monday of every month, we welcome local ladies to Chartier from 7pm-9pm for a casual night of games, conversation, drinks, and snacks.

One of our incredible regulars approached us with the idea of hosting a women’s game night. She was eager to put together a recurring event that gave local ladies the chance to meet + connect…similar to card nights that her mom, Rhonda, used to participate in before she passed away. These card nights gave her mom something to look forward to, a community to connect with, and a great reason to leave house (especially in the dark winter months). Sounds like something we could all use right about now, right?

Tickets to join “Rhonda’s Rumpus Room” are $15 each, which includes access to our charcuterie bar (a hefty snack, not a full meal - but other food and drink will be available for purchase!)

Games will be available on-site (Uno, Monopoly Deal, Yahtzee), and you’re welcome to bring a game of your choice too.
